SBD supports nature and biodiversity in the district

We are continuing to create pockets across the district to help people connect with nature and support biodiversity
Recent successes include
- The Pocket Forest in Naomh Ólaf GAA club where we planted over 400 trees earlier this year
- Blackthorn Park: new park and children’s playground
- Bracken Park: pocket park with yellow canopies for shelter, picnic tables and benches, planting and the council’s art piece Scéal Trail (story trail) especially for children
- South County Park: pocket park at the entrance with water feature and wildflower meadows
In addition to that we also look after
- Landscaping: a variety of landscaping projects including herbaceous borders, over 10 new flower beds created in Stillorgan Business Park.
- A variety of insect hotels surrounded by bee friendly plantings
- Maintenance: to augment the council’s services provided, we continuously maintain grass verges, conduct tree maintenance and collect litter as part of an ongoing supplementary maintenance programme
